Hi everyone,

Consider the circuit here:
output.png

When two sources are in a parallel circuit, their voltages add up, right?

So I have a 0.5 volt battery and a 4700MF capacitor with a charge of 0.5 volts, but when I measure the voltage at h and z, the voltage is still 0.5 volts.

Do you know what is wrong with this circuit?

Thanks for reading.

No, when in parallel, the voltages are always the same.

So do the voltages add up when they are in series?

except dont try that with a battery and a capacitor ... it wont work, you will get 0V as current doesnt flow through a capacitor.

but if it was 2 x 1.5V batteries in series, then you would have 3V total :)
