I have an apartment upstairs which is heated by the same system as our home downstairs. I would like to find a thermostat thet would take at least two inputs that would be switchable or even sharing.
Anybody got an idea?

A thermostat measures the temperature at one location only. You could use two thermostats and some logic to give the action you want.

Multiple thermostats on a system that's not independently controlling the temperature of each location makes little sense.

If regulating temperature is your goal, converting your furnace to two stage might be the best option.
A damper will then switch from heating the upstairs, and then the downstairs.

I don't know much about logic between two thermostats.
As already pointed out, a thermostat will only turn on or off at the set temperature selected.
Normally the highest area is the hottest area. So if it's colder downstairs, put the thermostat downstairs.
But us Brits have loads of thermostats throughout the house!
One for main hall/house temp, and the rest are all on radiator valves.
Every room can be individually temperature controlled..

But there are also these neat things that are wireless thermostats. You can have it in your back pocket and the temperature changes depending on your location within the property..

Even iphone apps too...Automation is now! Not the future.

Where I live if it gets too cold in the house we just turn off the AC. If that doesn't work we open a window. :)

That doesn't solve the problem. That would only make the upstairs roasting hot. I assume it's forced air heat rather than hydronic heat. Closing the registers downstairs and opening the upstairs will compensate for a hot upstairs.

You Brits have lots of thermostats, but, the down side to hydronic heat (boiler circulating water) is controlling the humidity. The gets dry.
Got dry cracked skin Martin?
