image.jpg Hello everyone

I am working on producing a prototype for a new product and I am struggling just wondered if anyone can shed some light on something for me.

I am trying to switch on and off a simple device by using the charge point. I have been advised I can use a standard 3 pole female jack and a mosfet. Where can I get a 3 pole jack like the one in the picture?

Many thanks all

there's so many DC jacks available out there - in different shapes and sizes, if you need to plug it to a specific size, you'll need to match it, otherwise if you have freedom to choose on the male and female DC jack sizes, then you can pick any, it'll only need a positive and a negative for it to work.

on mosfets, you need to choose one that can handle enough current that your motor will draw.. a common one is the IRLZ44N.

The jack as described in your schematic is so common it is hard to find one *without* the disconnect switch. If you search for DC power jacks on distributor websites, you will find some with other switch arrangements, including fully isolated switch sections for other uses.

Thanks guys, I will look again for the connector I have been looking and ideally wanted a prewired cable on the connector. With regards the mosfet the motor is 80ma so will the IRLZ44N do the job.

Thanks again

Yes. Way overkill, but if that's what you have, no problem.
