Hi all

I've got a 230V control panel managing pumps and i wanted to monitor and record what happens to them (when they are activated etc) via a 24V DC piece of electronic trickery. What sort of transformer / convertor would i need in between the 2 ?

Many thanks

via a 24V DC piece of electronic trickery.
What's that supposed to be? A digital input to a PLC? Please be more specific, more detailed. We have no idea what you have at hand.

Hi Harald

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, it's a Siemens Logo PLC (the 6ED1052-1MD08-0BA1 model) with both analogue and digital inputs

Thanks

The "best" solution would be a native AC input for the PLC.
You could use a 24 V dc power supply. Connect the mains in parallel to the pump'p power, connect the 24 V output to the PLC. A bit of overkill, but quick and not too expensive.
Or you could use a relay with a 230 V AC (!) coil, connect the coil in parallel to the pump, then connect one contact side to the input of the PLC, the other to a 24 V supply.
