Hello,

What type of potmeter did you use?
Is it a multiturn from bourns?

My guess would be that you have got the two power supply wires on the wrong terminals.
Leave the signal/wiper/output wire where it is and swap the other two over.

Many pots have pin numbers molded into the body somewhere. For the ones that do, the most common pin assignment is:

1 - CCW - the counter-clockwise end of the resistive element.

2 - Wiper

3 - CW - the clockwise end of the resistive element.

If the pot is not a pcb type, then the most simple thing to try first is reversing the wires to pins 1 and 3. If it is pcb-mount, then consider desoldering the pot from the board, and reconnecting it with pins 1 and 3 reversed using short jumpers. In this way you can test if this is the correct solution before cutting and jumpering traces.
