Hey, so I have a led light bar on my truck and was using a relay to switch them on, I wired the coil wires to the brights and had a separate source for the light bar. For a good year I had no problems but just recently the relay seems to stay on even when the brights are switched off. I bought I new relay and same problem. Was wondering if I need to put something in front of the coil wires?

I could be making no more than a random guess but that guess would be that your high-low beam mechanism has worn out and is passing enough current through the high beam circuit when off to still activate the relay.

Keep in mind that what you have done is probably not legal. High beams are for on-road use but no aftermarket light bar is. You should not have the light bar on, on public roads, yet should still retain the ability to use high beams on public roads.

Wire it up separately, fix the fault by doing it right this time.

Auto headlight wiring arrangements can get tricky with a constant feed to the lights and switching the earth return.
Tapping in in the wrong place can create feedback which can do what you describe.
+2 for Dave9's advice, get an auto lecky to set it up properly.
Without seeing an exact drawing of how it is currently connected, that's about the best advice we can offer.
