OR figure it out with high-school trigonometry. the idea is this: with 3
rotating phases, separated by a fixed angle, the system is
over-determined (more equations than variables). This is even more so
when all three vectors are balanced. you can thus represent a balanced
3-phase set of vectors with a SINGLE vector, rotating at the same
angular frequency
