Hi I've recently acquired a pizza oven with a Eu plug. It says 220-230v and 3.6kw
So I'm guessing it needs a 16a fuse. Is there an adapter that can be used for a domestic kitchen or does it need a separate socket wired in?

You'll find adapters for any place in the world. As you didn't reveal where you live, we cannot make recommendations.
Since 16 A is afaik the max. standard fuse rating for household power, a dedicated outlet is probably your best option. At least one without any other loads on the same circuit.

Hi Harald, Thanks for your quick response. Sorry I put in the title EU to UK but not in the text. I was assuming a separate outlet but just wanted to double check.

My oversight.
A separate outlet is the safest option. If you use an outlet that shares the wiring with other outlets, you can never be sure there are no other loads active on the same circuit. Thus you may easily trigger the fuse.

Fwiw,
Here In the US, going up to the next standard size fuse (20amp) is allowed provided wiring is capable of handling it.

I wouldn't have a problem with just changing the plug.
Of course asking your local authorities is best.

In the UK you would have to have the device wired to a wallplate with a double-pole isolation switch. Fusing would be at the consumer unit - such high power devices are usually wired to their own circuit breaker. You cannot (reasonably) attach a plug although a 16A commercial plug/socket COULD be used in some locations - not really appropriate unless you plan wiring it in a commercial kitchen??? But that self-same 16A wall socket would still have to be wired to its own circuit breaker.....
