I'm considering making my own kick ass S/PDIF DAC using a TI PCM1794A and an ON LC89091JA but I'm stuck on the section in the LC89091JA datasheet page 9 about the resonator, it seems rather "GET IT RIGHT OR DIE" to me, it seems like I need to get the capacitor values right specifically for the final PCB design as the PCB capacitance can affect it in some way.
How do I go about prototyping it and finding the right component values?
or
What's the simplest and most fool proof way of supplying a 24.576MHz clock?

I had a look at the PLL1700 but thats a lot of pins for such a simple task!

Any particular type or output format?
I dont know If I could solder one of those packages with the contacts on the underside, I do have a heat gun attachment for a gas soldering iron but its easy to overheat things with it.

Edit: How about this I can use it in a breadboard?
It has a load capacitance of 15pF, how does the output capacitance affect the output waveform?

You need to select one with an output voltage that matches the input voltage expected by the LC89091JA, namely 3.3 V.

There are leaded packages, too. Use the filter in column "Package/Case"
