4x AA batteries should be more powerful then 2x 300 mAh batteries, right?

I am currently working on a friend's airsoft gun, and I've run it to a mindf*ck. The old battery packs that powered the motor are the 2 white batteries seen in the first image, and they are long dead and he has no charger. I figured l would use a battery pack from a nitro RC car of my own to power the motor as the connectors are the same. My AA batteries supply like 1500 mAh per battery, which is way more than the others, right? or are we talking volts here? However, the 4 AA batteries seem fail to supply enough energy to power the motor to pull the plunger (the white tube) back against the long spring to properly fire a round by compressing air inside the plunger, when the others should. Could this be a motor problem? Or is there something else I'm missing? I'm really bad with this sort of thing FYI!20220823_230525.jpg20220823_231624.jpg20220823_231549.jpg20220823_232412.jpg20220823_174310.jpg20220823_174304.jpg20220823_231518.jpg

Hello,

Did you notice the voltage on the white battery?
There is stated 7.2 Volts, so there will be 6 cells in the white battery.
The voltage of 4 AA cells will be 4.8 Volts, so to low.

A higher mAh rating will give you no more power, but a longer working time.

Also look at the labels and the small dents in the white package:

There are not AA cells inside but 2/3 AA cells, which are shorter. You can easily find 7.2 V battery blocks of different sizes and capcities on the internet.
