Color rendering is a concept that can mean different things to different
people. A symposium being organized for February 5-8, 2006 in Orlando, FL
is going to address that issue with some fresh ideas. The goal is to find
simpler substitutes for the traditional CCT and CRI metrics and a way to
accurately include the color characteristics of narrow-band sources such as
LEDs.

Paper proposals for the Symposium are due this Friday, October 7, 2005. The
Symposium itself will be preceded by a one-day color tutorial.

There is more information at: http://www.epri.com/LRO/index.html (Click on
the links for the "6th. Symposium")

Symposium sponsors include the International Commission on Illumination
(CIE), The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA),
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and others.
