Is there a site where I can find data books for electronic elements on
the net?
For free if possible.

Thanks!

Use the Mouser or DigiKey catalog sites to find the part.
Usually there is a link to part data.

I've never failed to find at least one mfr. data sheet by entering
"XXXX data sheet" (try it with and without quotes) at http://www.google.com
..

For the algebraic notation-impaired, you fill in the part number you're
looking for where I have "XXXX." :)

True, it can make a difference if you look for, say, 74HC74 vs. 74LS74.
Actually, that particular difference is very interesting in their
representation of the equivalent schamatic. And, of course, you have
to have the exact part number.

Plus, I've used several different mfr's browse-parts-by-function feature.

Have Fun!

Search military and government library sites. You can find a lot
of non-classified books freely available.

Hi,

Google, searching for part #, and usually adding "pdf" as a search
modifier. This way you stand a good chance of tripping over any other
related documents such as App notes that are relevant to the device in
question.

If you don't find them free just ignore that site and keep looking!
It's out there someplace and you shouldn't have to pay a third party
website for first hand info that's from someone else anyway. Screw
Chipdocs.
Try something like this if your stuck, I think it's a great source.

Check out the "EE Search" field, but it's also got links to alot of
manufacturers and I've yet to see a more complete list.
