Accenta 8 - Keypads don't work after power cut...

Hi,

Hoping someone can help me here.

I have a Accenta 8 System that was installed in 1996. So far it's been
excellent - no problems whatsoever.

This morning we suffered a power cut. The alarm was disarmed at the
time. Usually once power is restored I just dis-arm it as the alarm
sounds once power is restored. Today however this did'nt happen - no
alarm activation on power returning.

When I tried to activate it via the keypads there was no power to them
- no lights/beep when pressing the keys.

I switched the power off/on which gave the keypads light but they
still would'nt accept the code. Whipped the cover of the main unit -
the red power LED was out, when I touched it though it lit up (?).
Checked the 4 fuses - all OK. When I removed the fuse for the
'Bell/Strobe' the alarm went off. Replacing the fuse with the original
one deactivated the alarm. ....

Any ideas anyone.....
regards,
Gavin

Your battery has had it! When did you last change it?

Yes change the battery also the problem with the mains led on the accenta
is very common --- just needs re-soldering at rear of pcb.
