ADC diagram & functioning Using sensor input

Hi,

As I am new to ADC and wanna use sensor output(in mVolts) as ADC input, need expert's guidance.
I am using onchip ADC in Silab microcontroller. & little confuse to use Vref. Can you guide me how Sensor o/p be given with respect to Vref of ADC?

How to connect sensor as i/p? My work has frozen for solution.

input [MV] MEANS A LOTS OF GAIN .to get one volt A= 1000 That is no easy task for beginner. reference is whatever you want to be the output will give you and output weighted on that reference if you use 10 v ref then 1mv must be increase to 10v for full scale.
