Adding Aux input to older car stereo

Same problem with me. I tried different FM transmitters and modulators, but the static is terrible. I'm willing to modify my stereo, if i know where I can solder an AUX input.

You must identify which IC manages the audio selection path.
If you do not have a schematic, search the data sheets of each IC of about 18 pins that you see on the printed board and come back with the number, to explain where to inject an auxiliar signal.

Another way is to identify the IC that controls the volume gain and use a stereo cancelling jack on the front panel or wired coming trough the stereo back.

why not get a FM mod that is hardlined to the Antenna wire. I work at a car audio shop and these things work great and are cheap and easy to install.
