adjustable circuit breaker

i would like not keep blowing fuses in trouble shooting the 120 volt device that i work on. there are a range of fuse rayings that i come across...5 amp 6.5 .... 8 amp etc... have any of you guys seen adustable circuit breakers? is thete an electronic way of doing this?

Just use fuse wire.
Circuit breakers cannot be adjusted. They are SET.

One way is to use a rather large floodlight( maybe 150W) in series with your work.
That way if the load becomes excessive it will cause the lamp to glow brightly.
Under test the lamp may run dim.
Depends really on what the load current of the device under test is.
