After reading/writing 1.000.000 little files, sound corruptions occurs in XP x64 Pro ?!?

Message received, interesting theory thank you ! ;) :)

However I have fan blowing cool air towards the harddisks.

However there is some dust in the dust filter.

And there are cables at the end which might block a bit of the airflow.

The question therefore is how hot are the chips getting.

A cool idea would be to add sensors to the harddisks just like other
equipment has nowadays therefore I am going to add the hardware newsgroup
again so people see this idea ! hopefully ! ;)

Besides if this theory was the cause then it would have to be all the
time... but that does not seem to be the case ?!

Bye,
Skybuck.

You're theory doesn't add up.

Somehow file system activity is messing up the sound driver.

How do you explain that ?

To me the only logical conclusion would be Windows has a serious bug
somewhere.

Either that or maybe the hardware has bugs or is damaged somehow.

Skybuck.

It is not 'messing up the driver', you fucking retard, so STOP fucking
with your driver installations, dumbass.

It is EMI noise being injected into the sound cards circuitry inside the
case.

To us, you're an utter idiot that makes shit up to explain to yourself,
the lack of knowledge you have about electronics.

Your brain is what is damaged.

If only that were true.

Well I am not completely happy with this situation.

There are some possibilities:

1. I somehow managed to damage my hardware, maybe with plastic and static
electricity. Still components should be made so they don't die so easily of
static electricity ?! I understand they need to get rid of heat... but
still.. leaving electronics unprotected ?!? does that sound smart to you ?
People have to assemble and therefore touch...

2. Overheat damaged the hardware in the past... I don't feel I am to blame
for that... nvidia is to blame for that... with their dual sli cards and not
warning people for proper airflow and do's and don't s.

3. Hardware/software has bugs:

Now suppose for the sake of discussion it's number 3 then again I am not
happy about this.

Websites only show juicy benchmarks like performance numbers.

So I have suggestion for them. Instead of using a quick benchmark for a few
minutes... try running some good stress testing tools to stress test the
shit out of the hardware !

Full stress tests for: memory.
Full stress tests for: harddisks, little and big files.
Full strees tests for: operating systems ! <- BIG SUBJECT !.

God knows how many issue's Vista had when it came out ! BIG LOL THERE.

How many websites warned for that ? and how many didn't ? ;)

Did some people buy a cat in the bag ?!

I for one don't want to buy cats in the bags ! :)

I want to know if there is something wrong before I buy it !

I can understand that hardware and software have problems... nothing is
perfect !

But I still would like to know about it !

For example:

Suppose Windows XP X64 Pro has serious bugs... then maybe it could be
interesting to try and update to Windows 7.

But then again... maybe that be too risky... scary shit ! I don't wanna
loose my system cause I spent lots of time installing and configuring stuff
on it !

Somebody should repeat my tests... HMMMM this is a good reason for me to put
my validator online sometime so that people can try and see for themselfes
what it does to there systems...

But maybe nobody dare to run my exe anyway... but I am not gonna supply
source since it contains my latest and greatest core executor...

But maybe I will make a dummy project which does more or less the same...
and then I can test if it has the same effect on my system... and if it does
I can simply release that source code !

So to say it really simple:

I could make a very simple small test program which does more or less the
same ?!

However you guys could make that as well because I am very fucking busy ok
?!

I don't have time to investigate all these bugs and problems all the time ?!

It's not my job you know ! It's job of microsoft and creative labs, and asus
and nvidia... and maybe even corsair.

And I am saying something weird is happening !

Could be just me and my hardware.. or something weird is going on... so...
see for yourselfes is what I am saying !

Test it yourself and see what happens on your systems !

Millions of littles files.... read and write them and see what happens to
the sound system after a while ?!

Sound simple enough such a test so do it if you have balls !

Bye,
Skybuck.

1. Delete the millions of files, then see what happens

2. Try Linux (Knoppix bootable CD) and see if your sound problem
continues. If Knoppix works fine, it's some sort of Windows
configuration problem

3. Take up farming instead as a hobby?
