alternative XT60 connector for live circuit?

I've been utilizing the XT60 for various connections throughout a circuit where there is mainly 12VDC and up to 20A. However, as the XT60 is not supposed to be disconnected or connected live (as it can cause pitting of the gold plating), I am wondering what substitute connector I could use in the live areas? Thank you.

Most that use these plugs have the main load current isolated during plug in.
If in R/C, the receiver or esc boot up current would be of little issue.

A switching supply of up to 12VDC @20 amps is being used to drive a small car electric heater. So far, I've gone out to the car to turn off the heater and then disconnect, but I'd like to be able to just unplug from indoors which I could do because I have a couple of XT60's inside.

Then simply turn off the supply first.
