To read about the basics of C, google "C Tutorial".

If you want to try C out, download the Eclipse CDT IDE from www.eclipse.org. If you are using Windows you may also need to install mingw.

Another good resource is the Wikipedia article on the C standard library.

just get the current +1 students computer science book! it contains the fool basic of c language then if you complete it you can get the same students +2 book which contain c++ also!
