Hello,

I wrote www.siliconsolar.com/solar-birdbath-fountains regarding this,
but they never answered. A bit disappointing.

BTW: Do they mfg. the cells themselves, or a China import ?

I will probably buy one of their Aquajet kits for trying out to provide
a very light spray for a small birdbath.

I am concerned and wondering about how well sealed the solar cell is
regarding potential damage to it due to rain.

How "well" sealed are they ?

Is this something I should be concerned about ? Why ?

Also, are there any other brands, perhaps better, that offer similar
style kits in the under $ 50 range ?

Thanks again,
Bob

Completed, encapsulated modules sold for outdoor use should be sealed
and weatherproof. Look at the warranty terms for a better idea of
how long the manufacturer expects it to last in actual use. You
might also be able to find comments from disgruntled customers on the web.

PV panels are routinely used to pump wells and water livestock; what you
are doing is just a smaller scale version of that. If the manufacturer
has a reputation for turning out modules that last a while, you should
be fine.
