Hello, I have a mixer IMG Stageline MXR 6 that was making a burning smell. I've taken it apart and found a burnt out component, and attached a photo

On the photo, the multimeter probes are connecting between 5 volt positive input (red probe) & and a component on its way to the positive output of the USB audio, that proceeds the burnt out component.

There is 5v at this point

So I'm presuming that the circuit was supplying a 5v on to the USB audio output

It no longer does.

Any idea what the burnt out component might have been?

which one ?
the one on the right side in the shadow ?

how about a better well lit photo of it, if that is the one

Yes, the shadowy burnt out one on the previous photo. Better photo attached with burnt out component being poined out by multimeter probe

I'm toying with the idea of making a direct connection between the component preceding the burnt out one where there is currently 5V and the +ve pin of the USB output

The ‘good’ components next to it are Schottky diodes.
The foot print is similar, so could also be a schottky too.
