Good day.
I would need help. I have a Glade, Johnson & Son SCJ-227 automatic air freshener. I want to ask how to bypass the timer. It can be set to 9, 18, 36 min and then OFF. It has a manual button (microswitch) but it only works if the time mode is on. It does not work in OFF mode. So I would need to modify the PCB to bypass the timing and only the microswitch manual on would work.
well thank you

Just use a DPDT relay, and a switch to turn it on and off, inserted between
controller and motor ?

When switched on, either via a timer or a microswitch, the motor makes a small turn and then returns to its original position. If we put a relay there, the switch for the relay would have to be closed for that time.

Its the control board that would make that happen. if thats still desired in manual bypass
one could think about putting a diode in power line to motor, and another diode that feeds
power from a separate path. I am doing too much guessing here.

Is the motor for a fan or a positioning servo type motor ? I think former as motor is only 2
leads.....? Thats its a mechanical cam operated switch ?

it's a motor that presses the trigger on the spray (freshener filling), with a "cam", but there is no mechanical limit switch.. but I'm thinking, actually the back pressure from the spray could actually return the "cam"... so I don't need reverse gear... and if I connect the relay coil in parallel to the existing microswitch... and the relay contact between the motor and the board... e.g. red wire..

it's something like this... maybe...
