The baluns for video on the market are recockulasly priced ($20 to
$100). Am I wrong to believe that this is a simple device that should
cost about $1. I know for a fact that I can get a 75 ohm to 300 ohm
for a buck or so - is it the quaility needed for video or is just
greedy companies selling to unaware people.

Does anyone know where to find a good and cheap balun for video( 75
ohm to 100 ohm) BNC to terminal block would be great but I will adapt
as needed.

A TV band balun is simple compared to a video balun. It may be better for you
to make a balun for the impedances you want, with active components rather than
large inductors. Your video balun will need to span DC to around 4 MHz.
