Barrel jack on playstation VR

As you can see, comparing the two images above, the barrel jack on my PSVR is missing the inner circle sheath (gonna call it this through my lack of knowledge) and is exposing two prongs (pins, whatever they are). Apparently the power supply cable sits in there fine and it works (haven't test this as it has been given to me by a friend who is clueless to this defect I'm presenting to you and I haven't got a power supply myself to try it).

My question is, if the power supply fits in snug and the two prongs don't bend out of shape, will this be okay to use?

The two prongs are the circular inner connection only totally wrecked and missing the insulation sleeve.
Could cause a short when you plug in the power unit, who knows.
All that is known is it's defective.
