How to do test fire, on bench, of single electrical pulser into primary of old style Briggs engine Magneto primary winding , so as ACCESSORY separate SS trigger module shorts primary, so as negative -140v forms from Back EMF , so as secondary side coil fires the negative 10Kv. (Without the revolving SINGLE North pole magnet on engine flywheel) (Not the modern Magnetron with embedded ss trigger) I can bench fire cycle coils and car coils but the Briggs Magneto does not fire electrically - without the magnet method. My other idea was 555 timer monostable single pulse 16 milliseconds to triac gate terminal for sending single pulse Power source as AC 120v from dc to ac inverter, for operating primary of plain Magneto transformer.----For the direct AC, as bypassing the Back EMF) I had tried 9v DC pulse into primary with Stens trigger module to short primary , to get the higher volts to run secondary, but does not work. Corrections please. Another man just holds 60cycles 120v electromagnet against core of old style Magneto transformer and the spark plug fires 60 times a second. I only want single pulse.

Ufortunately I only know how to modify an old Briggs & Stratton motor by making it able to pop my microwave popcorn

and or at low visibility or no visibility I could switch on my microwave radar.
For stealth navigation.

Apply a pulse to a coil held close to the laminations of the magneto. What the 'coil' consists of will have to be determined by trial and error but considering the magnetic field from the rotor is quite substantial you might be needing a coil similar to a typical 12V solenoid.

The coil from a 12V relay (minus all the contacts) would probably be enough. Pulse the relay coil....

Briggs and Stratton incorporate a "special" solid state trigger.
I have repaired a few and the specifications of the switching devices are particular, in that it will only work with that particular device spec.

Use the separate SS trigger module to short the primary and create that -140v Back EMF. Try the 555 timer with the triac and AC 120v source to operate the plain Magneto transformer.
