Hi all,

Hope every one is well.

This is my first post so hope i am in the correct forum.

I really need some help fixing a switch mode power supply for a BenQ projector. Recently this failed due to a lightning strike.

When i took the board out initially i found that there was a component TOP258YN that was cracked. I replaced this however, there ios still no power on the board.

There seems to be a resistor on the board that is shorting when i test the legs with continuity, should this be the case?

I have tested msany of the other compnents and they seems to be ok.

Are you guys able to guide me to where i should ber looking please?

Many thanks

Not one reply, wow, surprised. Oh well i managed to resolve the issue myself. Wish someone had at least tried to help, not much of a forum.

Hi BuntyK, I'm also experiencing the same power problem. I'm about to replace a TOP258YN which is also cracked as well. Out of interest what did you discover the other problem was for your projector after you replaced your TOP258YN?
