BK 1431 oscilloscope

I have an old BK 1431 oscilloscope ,it has no trace just a dot on the scope that fades away.
I do have a schematic but it is barely readable, I can not make out componets or voltages.
I have tested all the transistors and caps even many resistors but I can s not get this scope
to sweep.
I have resoldered all the boards ,no luck!
I have replace many caps.
I am at a lost with this oscilloscope.

Check the waveform on the horizontal deflection terminals on the CRT and work back from there.
