Bose AWR1-1W repair

Our wave radio has been working fine until yesterday. It suddenly
died. The display will either show all characters (except for the
middle "8") or it will show nothing at all. The on/off button has no
effect.

I took the radio apart and did not find any obvious damage (i.e.
burned components, cracked solder joints, etc.). The input fuse is
fine and the power transformer has output on all three secondaries.
Beyond that, what should I be looking for in terms of DC power and
where? Some type of schematic would be really helpful.

I called the Bose service center and found out they no longer service
that old model. They offered a trade-in allowance on newer models but
I'm not real keen on dumping more money into this - I'd just like to
repair it so it works.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

First off, I know absolutely nothing about the innards of a Bose Wave radio.

As the failure affected both channels immediately and as your display is
showing gibberish, I'd look at your power supply voltages first. If you're
lucky a capacitor has opened up or gone high ESR causing the power supply to
an IC to go out of range and the fix may be relatively easy.

without knowing how the amp is constructed it's hard to say what to look at.
Does the amp use transistors or STK-type amp modules?
