Where can you get a slider control like the ones on old synths?

What type of device is it?
Is it a variable resistor or a variable capacitor or something else
entirely?
Any help appreciated... thanks.

I think it's a kind of resistor, with a spacer that keeps the contacts
apart until you press on it. They were custom made in small quantities, and
might not be easily found now. There is a similar thing on a Yamaha KX5
though, so asking Yamaha for spares is worth trying. The cost will be good
if they have. Whatever they ask, just pay it. If they have it, you'll get
something good at a price I doubt anyone will match.

Doepfer make them, probably a vast improvement of the originals too.
