Hello and best wishes to all,

Since many years, I have a small amplifier Cambridge Soundworks Slim 500 (2.1) connected to my PC soundcard.Since few months, there is a sort of distortion, the sound is very bad, frequencies seem mixed. This is particularly audible at low level. The problem is present in both channels.

So here's what I tried:
- Change of sound source connected to an MP3 player instead of the PC, same problem.
- Switching power supply (external), same problem
- Re-solder all the components of the card, always the same

Here are some refs components, perhaps the most experienced of you will tell me if they can be the cause of problem.

- M51132L, 2 ch electronic volume balance
- RC4558P, operational amplifier
- TDA8510J, Power boost

I tested all the chemicals they are in the correct values. I have not tested all those plastic film or brown (ceramics ??). The volume control was pulverized contact product but no change

Is that one of the above components can generate this distortion?

Do you have a idea or generalities concerning this type of failure?
For me this is as a learning exercise, I do not like to throw hardware that seems even repairable. ;-)

Thank you for reading to the end my bad english and thank you in advance for your help.
