Can I get this scale to work again?

OK, so far all I can get it to do is to light up showing a bunch of 8's, or sometimes LO. No difference with #'s contrast /with different angles. Cant even get it to turn OFF, as that doesnt work at all. Neither the MODE (lbs/Kg) button, or TARE. Weight plate/platform connected makes no difference. We tried hard to fix this, Kelly, but think we have reached the end of the line? Hey, it was worth a try, and I did learn a few things.......
