My garage door opener is AFU
This is the only spot on either board that looks damaged

Usually one would suspect the resistor however, it looks quite normal.
Then again the underside may be a different story. (possibly blown)
That would then leave the 3 terminal device, which, without any detail, impossible to say what it is.
Wondering what happened to the (looks like) missing heat sink.

Other side of pcb (track side) could give an indication.
Note that when submitting, enter as much detail as you can muster, make, model, all of it.
Have no idea what the hell AFU means either...save your shortcuts for texting your friends.

Is that R cracked, upper right I see a faint line in body.....? Clearly the Transistor
suspect, is it shorted ?

Hand draw the connections to the transistor to see what base or gate drive looks like.
That could be a clue as to mosfet or triac or scr or transistor. No markings on transistor ?
They may be faint due to heat discoloration....

Any markings on board to see if you can find any ref material online, or model number of
door opener.

Caps as always suspect.

Regards, Dana.
