Hi.
Looking for some gadget that can be hardwired (ethernet) to my internet provider cable modem ;
and allow my 'smart' TV, browsing television channels that stream live programming, like national broadcasting channels of any and many countries.
Not Hulus nor Netflixes nor anything force funneled by them.

This Roku and similar gadgets want me to watch what they want me to watch. Scratch those.
Example: Browsing for live TV government-sponsored/educational transmissions from Argentina, Poland, Australia, whatever.
-No computers involved- I know I can watch those on my monitor instead of television.

One of the Android devices running Kodi menus etc etc, World wide channels available.
Hooks to router via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi.

Thanks.
Still lost in space. Kodi is not hardware from what I searched.
Being an application, has it to be installed in one of these boxes ?

If I understood well, if not already installed.

Am very clumsy for these things; decided to venture installing such application in my 'smart' phone to evaluate if does what am after.
Well, got lost in outer space now

Zero intuitive to operate/enter a web site. Tried typing [ https://www.rt.com/on-air/ ] at a place that presented a fill line and keyboard and got nowhere.

Is there anyone that frequently plays with this for idiot-proof hold-hand guidance ?

The moment you decide that you want to "browse", you will have to use a keyboard to tell the system what you want to browse for.

You have basically 2 options.
If you are comfortable using a smart phone for browsing, you can display the phone screen on your TV - use something like easy and simple like "Chromecast".
Else, you can interface your TV to the net using a "Android Smart Box" to browse the web using the TV as the screen. You can then browse for streaming TV and view them.
