Depends on the size of the capacitor.

Here is a good site where you can calculate the discharge (and charge) characteristics of capacitors:

Example:
In your case, with your probe (600MΩ), a 470μF capacitor charged to 500V, to reach 30V, it would theoretically take 220 hours (9 days!) and look like this:

Of course it would take less time than that because the leakage current through the capacitor would discharge it in a fraction of that time.
