capacitor problem

I just want to know if i can store some charge in a capacitor by
connecting one of its terminals (esp of an electrolytic one) to the
supply voltage and leaving its other terminal open in the air. How can
i calculate the charge stored if we can store some charge in it?

Not exactly. For charge to be stored in the other plate, electrons must have
somewhere to go. Unless the voltage was high enough to cause a spark or
electric discharge in air, this can't happen.
