Hi, I went to plug my privia in the wall (as I moved it from one room to another) as soon as I plugged it in it sparked from the wall socket, small amount of smoke came out and now my keyboard won’t work. There have been two tones when I’ve gone to turn on the keyboard and I heard half a second of sound, then it goes dead.

I’ve tried replacing the dc with a new plug but that hasn’t done anything. The wall socket is fine, and still functions as normal.

Any ideas would be fantastic. I’m thinking possibly the fuse blew?

Make sure the AC / DC adapter is the same voltage, same current or higher and the polarity is correct.

What smoked? Adapter or keyboard?

I’m thinking the adaptor? It came from the wall socket. The adaptor I purchased was specifically for Casio Keyboard - I’ll double check again.

The information required will be on the adapter like in the picture...

No one ever told you not to plug thing in to wall sockets with the switch on..?
This is good example why, could have been a much more serious outcome.

I'd be getting someone qualified in to replace the wall socket.

Sparks, smoke, not a good sign, especially for the future use.
