Hi All, I'm not sure if I'm in the right place for this question or not so here goes. I recently bought a used Solax Tranformer mobility scooter with a dead Lithium Polymer battery pack as a project. It was sold as a needs battery item. When I went to see it the owner had it plugged into the charger & it would perform the basic functions of unfolding & folding itself up & would move a short distance while plugged in, as soon as the charger is removed battery pack is dead. the owner told me the original charger was lost & he had purchased the one that came with it. When I get it home & start checking things out I find the charger (appears to be a typical lap top charger) with a output of 24 volts, the manual states the charger needs to have an output of 29.4 volts/2 AR, I assume AR is a misprint (very common in manuals from China) meaning 2 Amps. So my plan is to see if the battery pack will take a full charge then see how much use I can get out of it. The charger plug in from the charger I got with the machine has a round 3 prong plug like a microphone type plug. Amazon has some fairly cheap chargers with 29.4 V/2a output but they have just a cylindrical 2 wire outlet plug. would I be ok in adapting the 2 wires on the cheap Amazon charger to the 3 prong end from the old charger just to see if I can get the battery pack up to a full charge. If the battery turns out to be usable then of course I would buy the more expensive OEM 3 wire charger. Thanks in advance for any opinions on this.......Vic.
