I have a small desktop cnc machine, I have built these hall affect sensors which i have built and they work (well the led turns from green to red when I bring a magnet near them). I was able to cobble the design together from things i found on the internet, i don't understand how they work.

I want to create a board to integrate them into my cnc machine.

The existing limit switches are 5volt normally closed, and I would like to have 6 RJ11 ports and an onboard 5volt voltage regulator and a power jack. Finally I would like to add red/green leds to show which limit switch was triggered, like the ones I'm already using on the hall affect boards.

I have no electronics background, can anybody help?

Thanks in advance

Marc

Hall effect switches are open collector so you will possibly need additional interface to suit your existing application, perhaps simplist would be a miniature relay for each hall effect.
They will work from 4.5v so that should be no problem, although you will require a negative from the supply and auuming the supply is dc and relatively clean.

The 3114 switches already come to suit Arduino projects and are mounted on their own module board along with pull up resistors and an LED and associated resistor so no need to make anything there.
They would be arguably more accurate that a micro switch which have a rather large centre dead band in comparison.
