Hi all,

I have a drone Flight Controller with a component that has failed, however I am struggling to Identify it. Anyone have any ideas? It appears to be a square SMD with a K that is underlined on it, but no other identifying features.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What did you do that caused the component to end up like this?

It's rare for a blown component - especially in the fashion your picture shows - to NOT have taken out multiple other parts of that board...

This is a drone flight controller and are notoriously fragile, I am not 100% what happened to specifically cause damage, and there may be other blown chips on the board, but this being visibly damaged, this is the starting point to recovery.

This does seem to be a weak point in the circuit of these flight controller as I have two of these boards from my friend both with the same component damaged in a similar fashion. The final image is a non broken one someone sent me on discord in the hope the full symbol may aid my search in finding a replacement component.

It's not a part I readily identify but if the material is 'ferrite' it may be a simple inductor - otherwise I'd guess it as being a diode.

There are some forum members that are more SMD 'guru' than I am and might drop in to assist.
