Composite video from VGA out of a computer?

Is there an easy way to come out of a VGA jack from a computer and
derive composite video using parts we probably have lying around the
shop? Thanks, Lenny Stein, Barlen Electronics.

I got a dandy little box for fifty bux does just that. Powered (but
only powered, nothing more) by USB. There are no drivers and it
basically can also serve as an extension for your monitor cable. It's
like a pass thru.

Also has an SVHS output, which I suggest you use to see anything. I
started reading all the scan modes it can convert to 480i-NTSC and got
tired and just ordered it. Once in a while I crank up my screen
resolution to do a screen capture, and I haven't had any problems in
any mode. In fact sometimes, like during bootup, the TV will display
before the monitor.

Bought it from Global Computer, one warning about them, don't buy
anything with a rebate, unless you can burn the rebate or an email
address. They use onrebates.com and they will never ever stop spamming
you. If you see something you like, get a quick hotmail account or
something to take care of business. They almost wrecked my email name,
and I happen to like this one.
