Connect two comparators' output together..

Hi All,

I saw a circuit that connect two comparators' output together to point
C, and then C is the input of a transistor, the transistor's output is
final output.

Why we can put comparators' output together?

The output maybe different voltage, but it just putt them together...

Best regards,
Boki.

Many comparators have open collector output transistors, not logic
type output stages. When you connect two of these collectors
together, either can carry current from an external current source to
the common negative supply rail. If neither transistor is on, then
the external source of current pulls both collectors positive.
