Iv a set of fairy lights 20 in series , Rated Voltage 3v, 15mA, I would like to connect four sets together in series (12v 60ma).I can get uk ac/dc 12V 1A Power.
Question1: Can i just wire it up straight.
Question2 : Do i need to connect a resistor if so what one.
Question3: Is 12 volts enough.
Im very new to this so please keep it basic Any advice would be appreciated

White and blue LEDs are about 3V. Then 20 in series need 80V that you do not have. I believe that the LEDs are matched and are in parallel, not in series.

20 LEDs in parallel will use a current of maybe 100mA to 400mA. The current is probably limited by the very cheap battery cells used. Then when four strings are connected in series they might burn out when a 12VDC/400mA or 1A power supply powers them.

A resistor can be added in series to limit the current if the actual voltage for each string and its required current are known.
