Hello,

i have a project and have constructed a test rig. For the demonstration and application of the control (input output of the results) i need to connect the sensors and the motor to the pc and to the voltage supply (socket). Unfortunately i know i am not very good at the electric part and havent done this before. I only learned the theory, but didnt the practice. Can someone give some advice or tips how to make it?

I would like to drive the test rig with a servo motor (has a motor drive; 24V DC) and have sensors at the test rig, which i would like to connect also to the pc.

How it can be done?

I would be very happy about any helpful answer!

Thank you in advance!

PC would only be able to supply "signal level" in both voltage and current and I imagine opto couplers being the best approach.

Not enough detail to say much else really.

Have you tried some of the (many) internet sites that specialise in this sort of thing, both commercial and open source diy.??

I looked on some sites like youtube and forums, but i don really understand it. I understood, that i have to wire the servo motor to the 24v dc voltage source, but i dont really understand how to connect it to the socket (i mean the voltage source). Espacialy i do not understand how to connect the servo together with the sensors to the pc, because i need for the regulation the sensors as input and the servo as output. If you need further information i will give post it, but i do not know what information i should post.

P.S. Maybe you could give some links you think i should read!?

I'm guessing you've seen something somewhere you want to copy , possibly at a cheap cost.

You obviously have some idea as to what gear you want to use or how you want to use it so share that info to start with.

Other than that we have no idea how to proceed.

If using a servo motor, you need a drive and an encoder on the motor, if using a stepper motor, the encoder is not required.
For connection to a PC, probably the simplest is to use the free version of Mach3 CNC software.
The CNCzone is also a realm of information on the subject.
Also the Mach CNC site itself has all kinds of info.
