Copper tape?

Need some thin copper tape (adhesive foil), about 1 or 1.5 inches wide, about
16 inches long.

I'd be willing to buy a roll for this one-time use, but all I see is the 3M
stuff at $30-plus. Samples from vendors seem to be a thing of the past.

Is there any non-3M tapes available?

Thanks,

searched metacrawler for 'copper foil adhesive', seemed to come up with
something.

metacrawler includes google searches, but doesn't suck on the(frequent)
occasion that google will.

The stained-glass people use adhesive copper tape, but maybe not that
wide.

Does your application require copper? If it only requires a conductive
tape, you might consider aluminum. Aluminum tape is usually available
at hardware stores for use in duct-work.

Great idea.

Thanks!

Great idea.

Thanks!

If you need copper (maybe a need to solder on a lead), check your
local craft store. They usually have thin sheet copper for crafts
which you could attach with two sided tape.

This might sound strange, but check out garden supply shops. Copper
tape is used to put around plant pots to stop slugs crawling up them -
they don't like copper!

I picked up some self-adhesive copper in "letter" sized sheets at a
stained-glass shop. You can just cut it to whatever shape you need.

And again your cross-posted question proves you aren't
using google much. You'd be better to practice using it
rather than doing your corss-posting (which as I said
before is a sign of not using google to find the best
place to ask).

A number of times, I just checked, I've mentioned that
copper tape can be had where stained glass supplies
are sold.

So the information is "google-able".

At least have the decency take out that silly signature,
which is clearly not a statement of fact.

It is.

"Delete" or "kill file" are options.

Hey DaveC, are you sure you haven't Googled, you wouldn't be telling a
little lie would you ;-)

I just did this -

"copper tape" supplies

- into Google and clicked on the first site and up came

http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_pickups/Supplies:_Shielding/Conductive_Copper_Tape.html

there are plenty of others, 12,400 in fact, so I suggest you rid yourself
of that pointless signature - and when you start using Google don't forget
about the Groups section, where there are 78 hits for the same entry.
Remember, whatever the problem you may have, you can bet your life that
someone else has already had it and has already posted.

see www.google.com

Oh, I feel better now .....
Cheers.

Simple is best. I was, apparently, Googling using too many terms, which
limited my results.

Always happy to have someone point me to a resulting URL, as you have done.

Anytime.

Try this Google exercise. Type anything into Google search and open up one
of the many sites listed. Click on any link inside that site, and on the new
page scroll down to some text and copy say about 6 words of text. Now go
back to Google and paste it into the Google search bar inside " ". You
should end up with only that site, or just a few. Repeat this exercise
enough to convince you that Google has indexed possibly billions of pages.
Once you understand that, it is possible to find just about anything with
the right combination of text and text inside inverted commas put into
search bar. And don't forget to use Images and News as well - the answer
will be there - 99% of the time.

Cheers.
