hi
i am trying to repair an old discontinued electronic waterfall picture where a motor turns some rods and films with squiggly lines and its lit up and since the picture is a bit transparent it looks like water flowing
the motor died - a TYD50 synchornous 110v motor
i replaced the motor successfully ,however now one of the flurescent bulbs wont work
i bought a 100 v led strip with transformer as a replacement
1- there is no way to tell from this ancient chinese wiring which is + or -, the motor doesnt either describe. can it be i connected it incorrectly so the light doesnt work?
2- how do i know how to connect the led strip if i cant determine + or -
what can happen? can it blow up? not work? i want to only touch the wires for a second to see if it works and if yes make the connection if not try again
i am frightened

This one is going to work on AC (mains). There is no "+" or "-".

The primary side of this will be connected to mains AC, too. The secondary side, where the LEDs sit, should include the correct wiring and connectors. Usually these can be plugged in in one direction only, thus ensuring correct polarity.

Boo! Did I scare you?
Can you take a picture of your waterfall picture without the water falling.

You say you have a hundred volt LED strip with transformer can you take a photo of that please or provide me the manufactures name and model number of that LED strip. Or a link to where you purchased it. Thank you. And don't you dare plug anything in the wall outlet. Or I'm going to tell your spouse. :p

The plug on which side? The 110 V side, I suppose?
In that case you connect the two wires to the 2 incoming wires from your 110 V AC mains. There is no + or - to confuse. Colors don't matter.

You're running on 110 VAC
Now I have to go by the specifications and it says 220Volts AC it's not going to work. You Purchase the wrong unit.

Follow the AC mains wire going in. It 'splits' and goes to two plastic 'turret' screw connectors, one with a red wire in it and one with a blue.

Connect your brown and blue to the red and blue respectively.

Your reply is a bit convoluted but I think you've 'got it'. One (the brown) goes to the turret with the white/red in it and the pother (blue) goes to the one with white/blue in it. You should be able to unscrew the turret 'thing' and twist the bare wires together and then screw the turret back on over them.

it all turns on and works
motor turns and lights go on

It's correct and will not overheat - unless there is a problem with the lights themselves but that seems unlikely.
