Hi,

I am working on a small project at home where I want a count down module.

Either analogue or digital input, don't mind too much at the moment. But what I want to do is be able to input a length of time in hours, the timer to count down, and then use this timer value going into an MSP430.

I'm not sure what type of module to use, I have found a Curtis 6 digit module (RS185-6090) which might do the job but not sure how you get a value on the screen yet.

Can anybody make any recommendations?

The long and short of the project is...

Timer set to a specific length of time > MSP430 to accept the input > MSP430 activate one of its outputs to an opto-coupler > this triggers a relay circuit to a motor.

The reason I want to use an MSP430 is I will also be using the other GPIO for other functions.

Thanks
