Couple of nfilter Questions

(1) Win hasn't posted in a while. What is his posting name from
google groups?

(2) nfilter seems to pass thru cross-posted messages as separate
items, thus evading Agent's "cross-post-show-only-once" feature. Any
nfilter fix for that?

(3) Does "Enable Regular Expressions" need to be checking for
"scoring" type of filtering to work?

(1) Win hasn't posted in a while. What is his posting name from
google groups?

He uses a couple: "Winfield Hill <hill%rowland.org>" and "Winfield
<winfieldhill%yahoo.com>" Replace the percent by an at-sign; I'm sure
those addresses have been 'harvested' already but no sense in posting
them in the clear, just on GP.

Hi Jim,

I can see posts from Win on 11, 12 and 14th March - so perhaps he has
been "nfiltered" your end!

I don't know about 2 - sounds like a useful feature

The scoring does not need "Enable Regular Expressions" for the simple
filtering I posted yesterday (in that there was no regular expression in
that filter)

Most of the harvesters pull from the headers only, and do not search
through the body of a post.

Regardless, Win already knows any addresses he posts will get hit, just
like anybody with any brains does.

The reason the ThompsonTard hasn't seen his posts is because he blanket
filtered yahoo.

Then again, maybe the HillTard hasn't posted lately. Maybe he is
feeling bad about being a GoogleTard all this time. So now, he has to
hunt up a new news source/outlet, which all GoogleTards that want to be
considered legitimate should do.

As previously stated, last post: March 11 (in this group):
What is his posting name from google groups?
(alt.binaries.schematics.electronicremoved from Groups line.)

http://groups.google.com/group/sci....author:Hill+ingroup:sci.electronics&scoring=d
gets it all.

Sometimes he uses both first and last names:
http://groups.google.com/groups/search?enc_author=RPgh0BAAAADFtHrG6XHXVn7658QezN4j&scoring=d

Sometimes he uses just his first name:
http://groups.google.com/groups/sea...gb6VqOFu0SzmEys9p7FBvuYqcsrUPIQKVkQ&scoring=d
(This method filters by email address;
he has used more than one in the past,
so these alphanumeric-account-number listings are partial.)

NFilter uses regx so yes it needs to be enabled.

What method does the Agent use? Either it keeps a history file of the
Message-ID:s of the postings you've seen, or it uses the Xref: header
and marks each post in the other groups as read after you've read it
the first time. (Both methods are used in other newsreaders).

I gather nfilter sets up a local proxy site. The Xref: header is marked
with server name, so if Agent is set up to use a new server name for
the proxy, it may be ignoring the header as it doesn't match. Or it's
not getting passed on.

I think it _is_ a header mismatch, as you point out.

Here's some details for you, dipshit...

No... you want others to think that you are a picky asshole, when in
fact... all you are is an overtly picky asswipe... and that when it
comes to EVERY fucking thing.
