Anybody know of a reasonably priced crimp tool for Molex 50079-8000 or
50079-8100 crimp terminals? The Molex tool is 63811-0300 but it sells for
around $200.00 so I'm really looking for an Asian "knockoff".

I've used crimpers that came with a terminal assortment at the auto parts
store, for about ten bucks. Just get one with small enough jaws.

Or, if you're doing large quantities, you could call a Molex rep and
ask if he'd like to come out and make a pitch, and he might _give_
you one. (I had an AMP guy give me about a $250.00 crimper once.)

Good Luck!

Possibly this:

If the wrapping destroys the link, search Jameco for p/n 99442. I've
seen these (or their clones) in many places, including the local
electronics shops, so you're not stuck with Jameco.

Thanks but I already have that tool along with their p/n 159265 which
is similar. Also have Molex's Universal crimping tool which does the
best job so far but isn't exactly what I need. These terminals are
very tiny, here's a data sheet;

US Digital uses the connector on their $20.00 encoders and I'm trying
to beat the $7.00 cable cost.
