i'm looking for the data sheet for the SSI-204 DTMF decoder. Their website
has been down for a while. anyone have it?

or as an alternative, does anyone know where to buy a replacement for this
IC? you'd think DTMF decoders would be pretty common, but i can't find them
anywhere!

thanks for all the replies. I wouldn't have asked unless 3 days of googling
didn't come up empty.

I'm reading the data sheet and there's a few things I'm not sure about.

is the ENABLE for the outputs to turn them on whether it gets a tone or not,
like a test, or does it have to be enabled to get any output, like an on/off
switch?

what are the crystal oscillator inputs/outputs for? the block diagram shows
it going to "clock circuits" but nothing internal. I don't think I need an
oscillator.

lastly, are the parameters for "current supply" being 10-16mA. Does that
mean that's the max output current of the D1-8 outputs? to test the
circuit, I'd like to use LEDs on the outputs but I don't want to burn the
outputs out so I'd like to know the max current out for the chip or each
pin.

if you've used this chip before, I'd really appreciate any help!

It's to allow them to function. When ENB is low the outputs will be at
a high impedance. (OFF)

If you don't have a source of 3.58 MHz you'll need to connect a
color-burst crystal in parallel with a 1 megohm resistor to Xin and
Xout. If you do have a 3.58 MHz source, connect it to Xout and tie Xin
to Vcc.

I've readed the datasheet for HT9170 (also a DTMF decoder so they should have
some things in common) while trying to repair a caller ID device (almost nothing
repairable. 95% done in 2 or 3 custom IC's) and it also needed a crystal. I
think it's for the internal "switched capacitor" filters.

For "current supply", methinks it means how many current is required from the
power supply.
