I have a small project im working on and what I need to make is a
motor that will go down the track witch I already have but what I
don't know how to do yet is I want the motor to stop at one end then
continuously go back and forth.
What would be good also is if I could change the motor speed also.

if you have a min to help drop me a msg

The motor speed should be easy...look at the motor controls here
http://www.minarikcorp.com/ there are many other places to find them too if
you do a google search. Are you going to use a PLC on this project? If so, a
proximity or beam sensor on each end of the track and a little software will
control everything nicely. Good luck on your project....Ross

I did this several years ago to make an h.o. trolly car reverse. I put an
insulated pin on each end of the hot rail. When the trolly wheel rode over
it, it made contact which was detected, conditioned, and triggered the
electronic reversing circuit to switch the rail polarity, making the trolly
go in the reverse direction. I can post the schematic on
alt.binaries.schematics.electronic if you would like (assuming of course, I
can still find it).

You can do it with a 2-pole changeover relay as I've shown here:
http://www.terrypin.dial.pipex.com/Images/AutoMotorExtremes.gif

I used that on a couple of projects, such as an automatic curtain
operator, and a window-operator. That latter let me open the window
when I turned the light out after reading for a while with it closed
against moths/bugs. It occasionally had a problem with strong winds,
but gave me years of useful performance.

I've also attached a small supply of punctuation marks below, as I can
see you are running low.
